Robert Paul Foley United States Marine Corps 2 February 1949 – 2 February 1968 Robert Paul Foley was born on February 2, 1949 in Boston. As a resident of Dorchester, Robert enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on May 31, 1967 and began active duty that same day. Robert served as Private First Class with the 1st Marine Division, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines and Company M. He was KIA in Quang Tri Province, Republic of Vietnam as a result of gunshot wounds to the body from hostile rifle fire while on an operation on February 2, 1968. For the heroism displayed in his service to our country, Robert was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. Robert was survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Foley residents of Dorchester.

Lt. Foley lived at 51 Whitten Street.
