Sons of Abraham, 70 Wayland Street

21870 70 Wayland Street, former home of Sons of Abraham

Sons of Abraham was founded by people from Adath Jeshrun (401 Blue Hill Avenue), who wanted a shul closer to their homes.  Rabbi Aaron Gorovitz , who was born in Lithuania in 1870, immigrated to New York at the age of 22, and after serving in several locations, he moved to Boston in 1907.

In 1956, the building was gutted by fire, and the congregation dissolved in 1958.  The building is now used by the Little Zion Church of God in Christ.
