Don E. Turner United States Marine Corps 14 June 1948 – 7 December 1968 Don Eldridge Turner was born to Sam Colman and Essie Turner on June 14, 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama. Don enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on April 9, 1968 while living in Boston. Private First Class (PFC) Turner was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, until he was killed in action in Vietnam on December 7, 1968 from gunshot wounds. Turner was awarded the Purple Heart for the heroism he displayed in his service to our country. Don was survived by his mother, a resident of Dorchester. He is buried at Grace Hill Cemetery, Birmingham, AL.

Pfc Turner was killed in the Vietnam War in December 1968. He was from Roxbury; his mother lived at 22 Normandy Street.
