William Bradford Turner Square

The intersection of East Cottage Street, Pleasant Street and Pond Street was designated a Hero Square for Lt William B. Turner in 1930.

Turner lived at 1 Everton Street.  He was killed in action at Le Catelet, France, on September 27, 1918.  He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.  The Boston Globe, November 8, 1918, reported that Turner was serving with the 105th Infantry and was a graduate of Williams College.
