The intersection of Neponset Avenue and Pope’s Hill Street was designated a Hero Square for Harry B. Dolan.

Dolan lived at 412 Nesponset Avenue.   He graduated from Dorchester High School, for which he p[layed baseball.  He enlisted in Jauanry 1918 and after brief training at Fort Sloceum sailed for France.  He was gassed three times but recovered from two of the attacks.Private Harry Dolan of the 337th Headquarters Corps, bakery division, was invalided home due to gas poisoning and was granted a 10-day furlough on his discharge from a New York hospital, was stricken with influenza and died at the Boston City Hospital  on October 17, 1918.  He enlisted in the Headquarters Division at Fort Ethan Allen, VT, and went overseas with the 101st.
