Jerry Linwood Thompson United States Army 7 February 1947 – 31 May 1970 Jerry Linwood Thompson was born on February 7, 1947 to Mr. & Mrs. Thompson in Boston. Jerry was an exceptional young man and showed his dedication to our country by enlisting in the United States Army. Specialist 4 (Sp4.) Thompson began his tour of duty in Vietnam on July 14, 1969 and served with the 3rd Squadron, 5th Calvary, 5th Infantry Division. Thompson was proudly fighting for our country until he was killed, in the Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam, for reasons unknown but it was deemed a Homicide on May 31, 1970. For his bravery and sacrifice Sp4. Thompson was awarded the Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
