United State Army 17 April 1924 – 6 April 1945 John Alfred Devine was born on April 17, 1924 in Boston, MA. He attended Dorchester High School graduating in 1940. Alfred was inducted into the United Stated Army on January 25, 1944. Private First Class (PFC) Devine proudly served his country in the 194th Airborne Infantry Regiment until he was killed in action on April 6, 1945 in Germany. PFC Devine was awarded the Purple Heart for the heroism he demonstrated in his service to our country. John was survived by his mother, Mary Devine and his wife, Irene Marie Devine both of Dorchester, MA.

John A. “Heppie” Devine lived at 44 Whitfield Street.
