Willis Beauford Jr United States Marine Corps 17 December 1946 – 6 March 1968 Willis Beauford Jr was born on December 17, 1946 in Arcadia, Florida. As a resident of Dorchester MA he showed his love for this country when he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on July 18, 1966 and began active duty that same day. Willis served as Private First Class in 3rd Marine Division, 1st Battalion, 26th Marines, and the B Company. He was KIA in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam when the aircraft he was passenger to was shot down by hostile ground fire on March 6, 1968. Willis was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. Willis was survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Willis Beauford residents of Dorchester.

Beauford lived at 137 Howard Avenue.  He was born in Arcadia, Florida, moving to Boston in 1952.  He attended the Julia Ward Howe School, Campbell Junior High School and Dorchester High School.
